Crosstown Cup This Weekend
Sure, Folsom Live is this weekend, but Folsom’s got many other options too. Folsom High School is hosting the 2nd Annual Crosstown Cup, a now-annual matchup of Folsom High School and Vista Del Lago High School. Vista currently holds the cup and is favored to win, by virtue of their 4-0 record, compared to Folsom, which is 1-2-2.
Vista’s First Homecoming
Vista Del Lago is going to have it’s first official Homecoming Parade on Thursday. The parade starts at 7PM at Empire Oaks Elementary, and goes to Vista Del Lago High School, followed by a community rally. Everyone is invited!
New Swim Team in Folsom
Vista Del Lago’s pool is ready, so it will be hosting a new swim team in Folsom. The Folsom Tigersharks will be starting swim practice soon – kids aged 4-18 will be practicing for 4 months and cuminating at the Meet of Champions on August 1.

Simulated double fatal DUI crash simulation at Vista del Lago High School educates about the consequences of drinking and driving choices, in 'Every 15 Minutes' program.

Nice Pool, But No Money
Vista del Lago just unveiled the “crown jewel” of the school, a $3 million 14-lane pool. Unfortunately, they can’t use it, because it costs too much to maintain. Students on the swim team are bussed over to the Folsom Aquatic Center.

Vista Del Lago has started testing out its new stadium lighting, causing ire among neighbors in the area. While some embrace hearing and seeing the football games, some are concerned about the brightness, traffic, and general issues associated with football games.

School’s in Session
Vista Del Lago High School is officially open. Around 630 freshmen and sophomores flocked to campus yesterday, trying to navigate a new campus. The $98 million campus is one of the newest schools in the district.

Is Vista Del Lago ready? It better be… because 600 new students will be charging in next week, anxious to get the place worn in.
