New Businesses Sprouting Up
Quite a few new businesses are popping up in Folsom, which must be a good sign for the economy…
* Chicago Fire @ Palladio had its soft launch today and officially opens Monday.
* Lockdown Brewing Company on Sutter Street enjoyed its successful soft launch.
* Chez Daniel (across from City Hall) is rumored to be open for business (dinner only).
* The Threading Place is now open at Palladio.
Palladio MallĀ has a number of new tenants lined up and ready to get construction started (or finished)… it looks to be a great 2012 for Palladio!
Green Acres Coming
Folsom will be getting a new nursery in March. Green Acres, a Roseville-based nursery & supply store, will be taking over the former Circuit City location. In addition, they just moved their corporate headquarters to Sutter Street.
Wise Buys In – Office Max Out
Office Max looks to be vacating its location on Riley Street, and discount retailer Wise Buys will be taking its place. Wise Buys is similar to Dollar Tree, but the merchandise is all $9.98 or less. Some MyFolsom netizens has likened it to a “less expensive Tuesday Morning”. Roseville has a store called Stupid Prices that may be a similar format.
2 New Restaurants Coming
2 new businesses are preparing to open their doors. Zagat-rated chef Daniel Pont (formerly of La Bonne Soup downtown) will open Chez Daniel at the location formerly occupied by Acorn Cafe. It will be dinner service only. Also, a new coffee shop, BJ Cinnamon, will take over Manderes’ original location.
Fresh & Easy Coming (For Real?)
Before the recession hit, Fresh & Easy was planning on opening up a new location on Blue Ravine, over in the abandoned Albertson’s. Unfortunately timing was poor and the project looked scrapped. Things appear to be back on. Fresh & Easy has announced 6 new locations in 2012, with one of them being in Folsom. Fresh & Easy is a convenience-style grocery chain.
Juice It Up Returning
Juice It Up will be returning to the Sacramento area, with a new location next month in Folsom. It will occupy the space formerly taken by Jamba Juice and Extreme Pizza at 25035 Blue Ravine Road. Nearly 80 outlets closed during the recession.
New Palladio Tenants Emerge
Palladio Mall is slowly adding to its list of tenants. Whole Foods is taking shape, and many well known locations are on the way. Chicago Fire is adding a 4th location, Chops, Freebird World Burrito, Toby Keith’s I love this Bar & Grill, and Panera Bread are all slated to join as well, according to Elliott Homes.
Land Ocean Opens Monday
Land Ocean, the new surf & turf restaurant which is remodeling the location formerly known as Ruby Tuesday, will open Monday. A ribbon cutting is set for Monday, 11am, with lunch being served that day.
Coming Soon: Burgerocity
Burger fans – rejoice! A new burger joint is joining the fray. Burgerocity is coming to the Century 14 strip center, in the location formerly occupied by Ugly Mug and Gonzo’s Deli (next to Chili’s). No opening date is known, but signage is up and a Facebook page created.
New Coffee Republic Coming
Coffee Republic, the popular coffee house located off of Folsom-Auburn Road – will be adding a new store in the Broadstone Marketplace. It will take the location formerly occipied by It’s a Grind. It’s unknown if they are moving or just adding a new location.
