Light Rail Hits Vehicle

A car was struck by light rail sometime before 9:30 am at the intersection of Folsom-Auburn and Natoma Street. A bystander did not witness an ambulance, and any injuries are unknown.

Folsom Woman Dies in Car Accident

Kimberly Ann Bryant, 45, of Folsom was identified as the passenger who died in a rollover accident on Folsom Boulevard last Friday night. Witnesses described the car driving erratically before the driver lost control and rolled the car. Bryant was apparently not using her seatbelt correctly, authorities said.

Bicyclist in Serious Condition

A collision involving a Hyundai sedan and a bicycle on Parkshore Drive west of Folsom Boulevard in Folsom left the bicyclist hospitalized with serious injuries. After getting in to a second accident involving distracted drivers on their cell phone, Folsom’s Pete Meendering has had enough. He has joined News10′s “Great Hangup” campaign, aimed at getting people off their cell phones and paying attention to the road.

4 Teens Injured in Accident

Alcohol and drugs may have played a factor in a rollover accident involving 4 teens. Three passengers suffered serious injuries, as they were not wearing a seat belt. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence causing serious injury and taken to juvenile hall.

Car vs. Light Rail; All OK

A light rail train and automobile collided at Iron Point Road on Monday night; The driver apparently fell asleep and the car veered on to the track. Bystanders were able to get the driver and her 2 daughters out before the collision.

Collision Outside City Slickers Sports Bar

A collision involving a truck and pedestrian outside the City Slickers sports bar left the pedestrian dead and the driver of the truck hospitalized. The pedestrian may have had a prior argument with the driver, assaulting him.

Rollover Accident on East Bidwell

5 were sent to the hospital in a horrific crash on East Bidwell. An eyewitness account tells that a Mercedes with no lights on and driving erratically ran a red light and was t-boned by a Dodge Durango. The Mercedes driver and her son are currently in the hospital with serious injuries; she is suspected of driving under the influence.

3 Teens Killed In EDH Wreck

Three Folsom teenagers were killed in a single car accident early Sunday morning. A 2006 Subaru Impreza carrying three boys and a girl was speeding northbound when the teen driver lost control and crashed into a large oak tree. The names have not been released; the driver faces possible manslaughter charges. There is no indications drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.

Accident Kills Folsom Woman

A solo car accident claimed the life of Folsom woman Kathy Wood, and put her husband Kent in the hospital with serious injuries. Their vehicle flipped on Highway 50 Friday night for an unknown reason. She leaves behind 6 children.
