Folsom Restaurant Reviews

Ruby Tuesday
2720 E Bidwell St  / (916) 983-4645

Although I typically am not a fan of chain restaurants, Ruby Tuesday is one of the newer businesses in Folsom I don't mind eating at. The food is fresh, the ambiance is adult (yet fun), and it's located in a part of town that's not hard to get to. It's a recipe for success.

I think the best thing Ruby Tuesday has going for it is the salad bar. There is a wide variety of veggies to eat, and it's very fresh. It's cold, too! The first time I went there I was taken back a little by the chilled plated and the temperature of the salad bar itself... it's downright chilly! It's a good thing though, as the salad tastes crispy, and fresh. My only complaint about the salad bar is the actual location. It's right by the entrance, and I would imagine it's there to kind of "show off" to people entering the restaurant, but the lines can get long and there's no good place to queue up. I would hate to be sitting at any of the tables behind the salad bar, I'm sure they get a nice view of everyone's backsides!

I've been there twice, and I liked what I ordered so much the first time, I had it again. I had the salad bar & mini's - mini-cheeseburgers and fries, along with the salad bar. (For like $9, too, such a deal!) The salad bar is plenty for many, and the mini's and fries were perfect to go with it. The burgers are more or less bite-size - 3 bits and you are done, but it's the perfect amount. I left stuffed both times. You know that feeling when you keep eating even though you are full, because you feel it's a waste to pass on such yummy food? I had that feeling. I hate it because you want to eat more, but you're just going to regret it if you do.

Anyway, as I said, I don't like chains. I'd much rather my money go to a local business, and I'm not a big fan of chains taking over America. However, I realize chain stores are successful for a reason. Ruby Tuesday is one reason why.
