MyFolsom.Com to Launch Version 3.0
FOLSOM, CALIFORNIA

Local website MyFolsom.Com (http://www.myfolsom.com) is eager to launch its upgraded version 3.0 on January 12, 2004. Upgrades include an improved navigational interface, search capabilities, and enhanced capability to fit smaller screens. The end result for users will be quicker download times, optimization for all monitor sizes, and an overall improved flow of the site.

MyFolsom.Com was started in July 2000 as a means for Folsom residents to discuss current events, see what's new in Folsom, and learn about their community. The site's popularity grew as an outlet over hot topics in Folsom such as affordable housing, city council recalls, and development south of Highway 50. Though it is not affiliated with the city, many see it as a "fly on the wall" perspective as to the voices of Folsom. The site now attracts over 3,000 page views a day, has over 6,500 posts on its message board, and has over 300 registered users in the forum. The website's traffic has been rising steadily since it launched MyFolsom.Com version 2.0. in April 2002.

MyFolsom.Com's new features include:

Tabbed Navigational Structure.
We have found that our users are on MyFolsom.Com for a variety of reasons, however their interests clump in to main categories. Accordingly, we tabbed and color-coded the site to 5 main sections: Folsom News, Folsom Visitor Guide, Folsom Resident Guide, Folsom Forums, and Games. Along with our tabbed navigation, users will also be able to find similar articles to each field quicker with our new site structure.

Search Powered by Google:
Now users can find the information about Folsom they need quickly and easily using our Google search. They can also scour the web with this search capability as well.

Cleaner Look & Feel:
We always felt the site needed something, but couldn't put our fingers on it. We then realized it needed more color! Our color logo is now more prominent, and the site has a lot more color flowing throughout the site. It's a subtle change, but it was definitely needed.

Optimized for Smaller Screens:
Users with smaller screens will no longer have to worry about a scrollbar on the bottom of pages... we've trimmed the size down a little in order to accomodate all of our users on the 'net!
