Prairie Oaks is located to the northeast of Natoma Station east of
Prairie City Road and south of Blue Ravine Road. There was a
town
of Prairie City during the gold rush, and even though the exact
location isn't known, most historians believe it was in this general
area. Residential construction began in this area in the mid 1990's,
and several builders built production homes
in this area. Some of the homes in the area back to greenbelt areas
and have views. Most homes in the area sell from the mid $300,000's
to the low $600,000's.
Los Cerros is just north of Prairie Oaks
across Riley Street. Homes in this area are very good quality
production and similar to better quality
custom homes. These homes were built during the 1990's and some are
on greenbelt lots. Many of the lots in this area are large. Homes in
this area range from the high $400,000's to the high $700,000's.
Willow Springs, located just east of
Prairie Oaks, has been under construction since the late 1990's.
Although this is not one of the larger developments in Folsom,
several builders are actively building pro duction
homes in the area. Some of the homes have greenbelt views. Homes in
the area currently sell from the mid $400,000's to the low $600,000's.
This area has a couple of parks and several
walking and bike trails. The new Folsom High School is across Iron
Point from Prairie Oaks. Gallardo Elementary is one of the city's
newest schools, opened in Fall of 2003. The city's largest employer, Intel, is also across
Iron Point on the west side of Prairie City Road. There is a new
apartment complex at Prairie City Road and Iron
Point and another at Willow Springs. A new Safeway store and other
eateries are in the area, with room for more on the way.
