Suggested Visiting spots:
-
Sutter Street. A must for any
out-of-towner. Sutter Street is Folsom's heart since its
days as a gold rush town. Visit the galleries, restaurants,
and gift shops that are all part of this historic part of
Folsom.
-
Folsom Prison. No visit to Folsom is
complete without at least driving to the gates of Folsom
Prison. This is where Johnny Cash made Folsom a household
name in the 1950s. Stop by the gift shop and prison museum,
it's worth a look!
-
Folsom Lake. Folsom Lake has a number of spots to launch a boat or have a
picnic. It is a very popular lake for outdoor enthusiasts.
-
Folsom Premium Outlets. Interested in a little shopping? Dozens of outlet
stores will no doubt entice you with low prices.
-
Folsom Zoo. If you have
youngsters, please check out our beloved zoo. Tigers, bears,
and mountain lions highlight this small (but fun) 'rescue
zoo'. The zoo is very popular with families.
-
Folsom Powerhouse. History buffs will be intrigued by this California
historical landmark, which once powered all of Sacramento, a record-breaking
span at 22 miles.
-
Rainbow Bridge / Truss Bridge.
The symbols of Folsom are excellent spots for photo
opportunities.
- CSUS Aquatic Center.
Lake Natoma is an excellent lake for fishing or rowing.
Motor boats are not permitted on this lake.
Note: Folsom Dam is a commonly requested spot to visit, however
tours are no
longer available.
