Teen Gets 6 Months
Orangevale teenager Michael Anderson was sentenced to 6 months in jail, following a high-speed car crash that killed an elementary teacher on iron Point last January. Anderson will serve in Sacramento County Juvenile Hall. * Poll: Is 6 months enough?

Anderson's Death Ruled Accidental
Folsom teen Andre Anderson died due to autoerotic asphyziation, a coroner's report has confirmed. Though how he died is considered unusual, about 1,000 people die from it every year. Sacramento County sees one or two deaths a year of this type.

Tragedy on Iron Point
A 53-year old Shingle Springs woman was killed on Saturday, as her car was struck by a Dodge Stealth, by the Folsom Outlets. Police say 2 teens were racing along Iron Point, and have been arrested for vehicular manslaughter. Big Change
Ricci Amoruso was a 305-pound freshman at Folsom High - "Big Rick" as many called him. He finds out about the Academy of the Sierras - a high school program for overweight teens. One year and 127 pounds later, Ricci is back, with a renewed life. The Sacramento Bee does a special report called "The Weight".

Home Invasion on Clemsford Square Reported
A home invasion was reported recently in Folsom. Two men in their late teens or early 20s forced their way inside a home, and robbed a Folsom resident of cash, jewelry and coins. The woman was uninjured.

Folsom Teens Give Back
Many Senior projects look good on a college application, however Jordan Kuykendall and Stephanie Walsh of Folsom have created something that wll give back for hopefully many years. They founded an uninsured children's clinic, where children can get checkups, testing for developmental delays, and learn about nutrition. Full Story

Tree Recycling at Rodeo Park
Local Boy Scouts and members of the Folsom Teen Council will be on hand this weekend to help unload your Christmas trees. Drop off your tree from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rodeo Park on Stafford Street. The cost is free, though the organizations do accept donations (hint, hint). They will also be accepting trees on Saturday the 15th.

Folsom Teen Collects 260 Security Blankets
Ashley Rothenburg, a Senior at Folsom High, decided for her school project, she would try a "security blanket" drive for kids who needed a little love. After a little publicity on the subject, she collected 260 blankets and donated them to Powerhouse Ministries and the Sacramento Children's Home. Full story in the Folsom Telegraph.

Sudden Death of Teen Shocks Folsom
The death of Folsom teenager Sam Parrish has saddened an entire community, as a popular and talented 17-year old collapsed at Folsom Aquatic Center and was pronounced dead only 2 hours later. The teen, a Folsom High senior, was planning a trip to East Coast Ivy League colleges to further continue his studies. More in the Bee.

Skate Park Almost Ready
Teens will be happy to know that Folsom's first skateboard park is coming in November. Cummings Family Park is located at Creekside Drive and Oak Avenue Parkway, and will be open until 10 pm every day. An ordinance is being considered to make helmets and pads required, as the park is designed to be used with or without a supervisor. More in SacBee.com

Pipe Bomb Explodes at Broadstone Plaza
Teens are said to be involved in a pipe bomb explosion in the Broadstone Marketplace behind Old Navy. On Monday afternoon, a homemade bomb exploded in a dumpster, causing a large hole. Police blocked off the center just to make sure there were no more explosives. There were no reported injuries. More on theKCRAChannel.com.

Running Around in an Orange Jumpsuit: Not Funny
Inspired by the hit TV show "Jackass", a couple of Loomis teens decided to pull a prank, by running around handcuffed in an orange jumpsuit by a rural road. A citizen called the police and soon a full-scale manhunt was ordered, complete with a lockdown of Folsom Prison, a police helicopter, patrol cars, and police dogs. The teens soon realized the err of their ways and ditched the jumpsuit and confessed to a parent. Police were not amused. More is in the Bee, KTVU-2

Folsom Teen Held in Intricate AOL Scam
Folsom teenager Jason Scott Kriscenski, 18, was arrested on April 3 after police found out he was stealing credit card information from AOL customers, buying gift cards, and then selling them on EBay. The teen created a pop-up window mimicing AOL, saying that it was time for them to renew their membership, and that they needed to give him his credit card information. The teenager was charged with 2 felonies - theft of credit card account information and unlawful use of card or account information. More is in today's Bee.

Folsom High Teen Makes McDonald's All-America Squad
Jennifer Hall, a 6' 2" forward from Folsom High School, was selected to the McDonald's All-American team. Hall, who will be attending Vanderbilt University later this year, averaged 24.9 points per game and 12.7 rebounds per game. Hall adds these honors to Sacramento Metro Player of the Year, Sacramento Bee Player of the Year, NIKE Tournament of Champions "All Tournament" Selection, and Sierra Valley Conference MVP. The McDonald's All American Game will be played on March 26, 2003 at Cleveland's Gund Arena.Congratulations Jen!
