Attempted Murder - Suicide on Sibley
A domestic dispute on Sibley Street ended tragically, as a husband shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself. Both were taken to Mercy San Juan; The wife is expected to survive. The family is survived by 3 children.

Discovered Body Not From Folsom
Police have identified Alexandrea Marie Cerda, a 39-year old transient from Sacramento. She was previously believed to be a resident of Folsom, but her identity has revealed this is not the case.Labels: murder

Lake Natoma Beating Victim Dies
Satender Singh, a 26-year old who was assaulted at Lake Natoma on Sunday, was taken off of life support by relatives. Singh was involved in a confrontation with another group, and hit his head sharply on a rock after he was punched in the face. 3 Found Dead in Folsom Home
Three people have been found dead at 112 Wembley Court. An employee of Folsom Prison called when 2 co-workers did not show up for work; Folsom Police report that Laurence Moll shot and killed his long-time girlfriend, Bonnie Lathum, as well as her daughter, Teresa Contreras, before turning the gun on himself.

Nivette Pleads Guilty
James Dewayne Nivette, a Folsom man who fled to France after killing his girlfriend in 1997, pled guilty today to second-degree murder charges. The now 60-year old man faces 18 years to life in prison, and was originally looking at 35 years to life. Nivette fled the country to France, who sent him back to the States under condition that they not seek the death penalty. More is in the Bee and the KCRAChannel.Labels: murder

Mundy Murder Trial to Begin in June
San Quentin parolee Robert Mundy will go on trial for 2nd-degree murder of Folsom music teacher Aaron Farahmand on June 19. Mundy was evading police in a high-speed chase throughout Folsom, where he hit and killed Farahmand on Riley Street. The defense will try and spin the fact that the Folsom police officer who was chasing him was inexperienced. Mundy was driving with a blood-alcohol level of .26 at the time, more than 3 times the legal limit. More is in the Bee.
