A fairly new restaurant to
Folsom is
Jack’s Urban Eats. I have actually visited two of their other
stores, in Loehmann’s Plaza and Midtown, for a few years now, so I
knew what to expect about the food. What I was delighted about
when I first walked into the Folsom store in Broadstone
Marketplace was the size and space of both the dining room and the
patio. Jack’s is a stand-in-line, place your order then find a
table, type restaurant. This keeps the prices down and the
employees hustling.
The menu is made up of seven different salads and a “create your
own salad” with 20 plus toppings. Jack’s also has nine sandwiches
as well as carved meats available on the side or on your salad.
Another part of the comfort food part of Jack’s is the side
plates, which include mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, great
seasonal vegetables, baked cheese bread, and garlic fries. My
favorite side is the Urban Fries, which are shoestring potatoes
topped with blue cheese dressing and spicy chili oil. All the
fries come full or half order (half order is enough for two).
My favorite meal to order at Jack’s is either the “Create Your Own
Salad” or the Pork Carnitas Sandwich. The Carnitas sandwich is
made up of slow cooked pork in Mexicali spices, topped with Ortega
chilies, cheddar cheese, leaf lettuce, tomato and Chipotle aioli.
There is no shortage of flavor at Jack’s Urban Eats. Everyone in
your group will be satisfied.
Jack’s serves bottled beer and wine by the glass. In addition,
there are numerous coke products with free refills, Thomas Kemper
Sodas and bottled and tap water. When you first come into the
restaurant, if there is a line, don’t let it bother you, it moves
fast. Remember to leave room for dessert, which I often forget,
because Jack’s always has great homemade cookies and Rice Krispy
treats to satisfy the sweet tooth. Jack’s is open from 11:00 a.m.
to 10:00 p.m. daily.
