Folsom Entertainment

Best Bar: Powerhouse Pub

You don't have to drive to Sacramento to see quality entertainment... after all, once bands like the Cheeseballs and Wonderbread 5 hit Harlow's downtown, their next stop is always the Powerhouse. Powerhouse Pub is known for loud music, great bands, and a great patio. This place is king... 4 years in a row!

Best Bar Food: BJ's Brewpub

When you want to unwind after a hard day's work, head over to BJ's for a cold beer, and order up some appetizers while you're at it! Lettuce wraps, buffalo wings, all are great. Go ahead, order a pizzookie. We know it's not really an appetizer, but it's darn tasty!

Best “Under 21” Spot: Thursday Night Market

Best of Folsom 2005 Winner Best of Folsom 2006 Winner

Thursday Night Market is always full of teenagers all summer long. Perhaps it's the best way to see friends during summer break, or perhaps they are just looking for free entertainment. Either way, it's likely you'll be spending many Thursday evenings in the summer on Sutter Street if you have a teenager!

Best Place to Be Seen: Concerts in the Park

      Best of Folsom 2006 Winner

Although this year has been one for scorching heat, even in the evenings... Concerts in the Park are always a great time. It's usually not about the band - they are just a side highlight to mulling about and seeing all of your friends and neighbors in the crowd!

Best Tourist Destination: Folsom Lake

      Best of Folsom 2006 Winner

Folsom Lake is very popular for so many reasons - you can have a picnic overlooking the lake, you can go swimming, boating, sailing... there's even a sandy beach at Granite Bay for the kids to enjoy. It's cheap entertainment, right in our own backyard!

Best Folsom Event: Christmas Tree Lighting

      Best of Folsom 2006 Winner

Although Folsom is getting bigger every day, it still retains its hometown feel with many events like the Christmas Tree lighting on Sutter Street. Residents young and old get bundled up, drink hot chocolate, sing Christmas Carols, and then watch the tree get lit... it's always a lot of fun, even if you don't celebrate Christmas!

Best Summer Activity: Biking Folsom's Trails

      Best of Folsom 2006 Winner

Largely unnoticed throughout this community is an award-winning network of bicycle trails... they span from the American River all the way through Willow Creek. It would take an entire weekend to discover them all, and that doesn't even include Folsom Lake!

Best Community Park: Livermore Park

      Best of Folsom 2006 Winner

Livermore Park is probably laden with the most features in Folsom - 3 barbeque areas, sand volleyball courts, softball field, waterfalls, and much more. Concerts in the Park have been here while the Library is being built, so many people have discovered Livermore Park for the first time. The secret is out... this park is perfect for any family!
