The Green Valley Road Widening Project is Complete!

July 8, 2020
To the delight of commuters and anyone making the trip from between the north side of Folsom and El Dorado Hills, the Green Valley Road Widening Project is complete.

First officially presented in a draft report in 2014, the project will alleviate bottlenecks at Sophie Parkway and at Blue Ravine.

Used by more than 25,000 motorists daily, Green Valley Road is an important connection between Folsom and El Dorado County. Green Valley Road now includes four travel lanes, buffered Class II bike lanes, a painted median/turn lane, and a parking area for the Mormon Island Wetlands State Park.

The project will improve traffic flow, wait times at nearby traffic signals, and air quality by reducing commute times.
