Wal-Mart to Open 3rd Folsom Store
The rumors have been confirmed - Walmart will be opening aSuperstore right behind Costco, in addition to remodeling the existing Wal-Mart, as well as Sam's Club right down the street. If everything goes along as planned, the SuperCenter will be open in 2 years.Labels: WalMart

It's Snake Season
The recent sunshine typically brings out quite a few snakes out of their dens, and rattlesnake sightings are not uncommon in the Folsom area. If you spot a snake, your best bet is to call a handler and have it removed... most snake bites occur when people try to kill them.

Some confirmed an unconfirmed rumors of new business in Folsom - Circuit City will be going in the land above Costco... A Super WalMart is rumored to be in talks with the city... Light Rail Not Moving Many Homeless
Many feared that the addition of light rail to Folsom would attract an unwelcome amount of homeless. According to the Advisory Committee on Homeless in Folsom, the homeless population has not raised. Current homeless programs appear to be adequate to fit current needs.Labels: Light Rail

Folsom Woman Killed After Confrontation
Eric Martin Minchak, 27, of Pennsylvania, is in custody on suspicion of murdering 45-year old Tammy Lynn Texiera, of Folsom. Texiera and Minchak were apparently in a confrontation at a Roseville gas station, when the confrontation turned violent.

Parent Awarded $4000 in Booster Dispute
Donna Kinsella, a mother of Folsom High band members, sued Folsom-Cordova School District over what she considers involuntary dues. The district was required to pay her $4,000 in reimbursements for her donation.
