Ring in New Year Safely
Got plans for the New Year? Hopefully, drinking & driving isn't one of them. Instead of worrying about accidents and DUI checkpoints, you can always get a free ride home from a number of "safe rides" programs in the area, or designate a driver to keep the streets safe.

Dam Bridge May Be Delayed Until 2008
With new flood control strategies in place in Sacramento, a new environmental study will need to be assessed - which means a delay in construction in a Folsom Dam replacement bridge. Our representatives are still pushing back, however nothing is certain. Story in the Bee.Labels: Folsom Dam Bridge, Folsom Lake Crossing
Importing Transients?
The trickling effects of light rail are starting to appear. Residents (and homeless) have noticed a rise in the homeless population since light rail has come to town... will they stay? It appears that police presence and Folsom's homeless shelter are not keen on the prospect of chronic homelessness and loitering in city limits. More in the Bee.Labels: Folsom Police, Light Rail

For the full schedule, please see the Folsom Calendar.

Time to Pay Up
Effective January 1, Folsom will begin metering water usage within the city. The meters are part of the city's efforts to meter the entire city by 2013, which is the state law. Here Come the Planes
With increased commerce comes traffic. So the story goes with Mather Airport, which may be an integral cog in Sacramento's bid to become an international cargo hub. Unfortunately for Folsom residents, flights go right over the city, which rattles more than windows. Story in the Bee.
