Folsom Fire Adds Some Muscle
Folsom Fire Department recently got a $70,000 grant, which was used to purchase a swiftwater rescue boat and a couple of thermal imaging cameras. This is great news to boaters - search crews can now get to Folsom Lake or Lake Natoma 10-15 minutes quicker in the event of an emergency. HP's Loss, Intel's Gain
Hewlett-Packard went through a recent downturn in the economy, which meant layoffs to some employees. Fortunately, the timing wasn't all that bad, as Intel has been hiring quite a bit lately, with 4,000 US jobs available. This means a lot of displaced workers have ended up at Intel. Where they'll sit is another question, as the campus is nearing capacity...Labels: Intel

Mather Flights Draw Ire
Folsom and El Dorado county have been directly under Mather Field's flight plan for some time now, and some residents aren't happy about it. The cargo hub's plans to expand are not sitting well with many. Read about in in today's Bee.

Folsom Grapples with Homeless Issues
As light rail has kicked off in Folsom to incredible success, many business and homeowners have voiced their concern on the side-effects. Some argue that coupled with the city's first 24/7/365 homeless shelter, it's a recipe for a growing homeless population (currently around 65).
