Former FHS Teacher Arrested
Jason McEvoy, a former English Teacher at Folsom High, has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 16-year-old student. McEvoy, 34, taught at Folsom High last year, though his contract was not renewed. Interestingly enough, McEvoy was covered yesterday in a story in the Bee.

New Bridge May Hit a Snag
The Folsom Dam Bypass Bridge is currently being "fast-tracked" to a 2007 opening, however a design issue with the Folsom Dam raise project may pose a problem. A new spillway may be needed for the Dam, which would be perilously close the the bridge. Vice Mayor Andy Morin feels the bridge can be modified, however, to accomodate the design issue. Apartment-Condo Conversions Starting
In what may be called as a creative way of complying with the state's 'affordable housing' requirements, some apartment villas are being turned in to condo units, which unfortunately leaves some tenants out in the cold. The condo conversion has not been without confusion, as many tenants are not clear on what is going to happen with their apartments. Story in the Bee.

Emma's Place Still Grounded
One of the last remaining question marks to the new light rail station in historic Folsom is Emma's Place. The historic brothel is planned to be moved about a mile away, however the roof may not clear light rail lines and the house is plagued with lead-based paint and mold throughout the house. Emma's Place is expected to be made a Montessouri School after its renovation. Story in the Sacramento BeeLabels: schools

Folsom Chipping In
With mounting budget cuts looming, the Folsom-Cordova School District has asked the city to pay $52,000 a year for use of its facilities, which was previously free.
