Folsom
Library
As
a School Board Member and an advocate for education, I know the
value of libraries in a free society. When my family first moved to
Folsom, one of the things we valued was the accessibility of
libraries to our community. On the School Board, I supported the
partnership between the City of Folsom and the School District in
order to become eligible for state building funds.
Folsom needs and deserves a new library to serve our
community and I will work to accomplish that goal.
I
believe we need to educate our community more on the value and need
of the library. We need time to build consensus from the entire
community for this endeavor. I would like to see the library
commission given more involvement in decisions regarding the
library. It appears to me that sometimes the current council works
if not in opposition, to the commission, at least without
significant input from the library commission. I would like to see
the two bodies work as a team to build this library.
In
conclusion, a new library for the City of Folsom is a top priority
for me. I will do whatever is necessary to get it accomplished.
